Hi. It's my first post on this forum.

We are actually developing a Left 4 Dead campaign taking place in Ukraine. There will be 4 levels featuring original musics, sounds, models and textures...

MALL OF UKRAINE:

Sc�nario: you just arrive in the MALL OF UKRAINE left with no human signs since month because of the same infection that touched the U.S.while discovering all the shops you realise that somebody else tryed to survive here, the same way you do. Marks of life, tags and other imformations strew the mall's wall.

Furthermore, this map contain a lot of originals textures, models (about 40) and sounds.This level will only be released in the Dniepr campain.

Please don't hesitate to comment on the evolution of the mod and for the lucky ones, have a good summer.

When Teamkilling Backfires

What are moments where you're being teamkilled but managed to get out of it?

I recall going into a Dead Air game on Advanced and saw everyone dead but me and Francis but I was in red, so I stumbled away, closed doors in his face to slow him down and that's when I heard a witch so I threw my arms up in the air and said "I'm fucked."

Found the witch in the middle of the narrow hallway, then I had a lightbulb go off in my head; a plan. I stood in front of the witch (not directly, still feet away) and when he pointed the gun at me, I'd just move to the restroom on the right so he'd shoot the witch.

Success. He yelled "BULLSHIT!" while the witch was tearing him apart. I watch him die, laughing so hard, grab his medkit, heal, and go on to rescue other Survivors except him and getting through that level before leaving.

How can I record emulators?

EDIT: I can do it but it goes REALLY slow. How can I make it go faster?

No mic is L4D & L4D2

My mic has quit working when I play L4D & L4D2. When I test the mike under options it shows that it works fine but when I am playing the game, no one can hear me anymore. I have an AudioFX Pro headset and a SteelSeries headset and neither of the mic's will work during the game.

Anyone have any ideas?

None of my friends were online so i started a game in expert - they all seemed pretty legit talking on mic ect....then just shot everyone!!!

Xbox360: Server Lag and AI Glitching Out on LFD1

As of late the servers have been pretty horrible when playing LFD1 on versus - one example is when we the other team did the finale and it switched side, it just went straight back to lobby.

Another issue on versus if we only have 3 players on the survivor team the AI seem to be really glitchy, not helping team mates that are incap'd and just starring into space and not moving...but when you move on in the map the jump forward and join you again...its really weird.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Any decent girl players for LFD1 Versus?

Sooooooo... I got a wee bit of cash for my birthday and it's burning a hole in my pocket.

I've heard the term "Turtle Beach" batted around in a few threads and thought they might be a good purchase, so I checked the website. They're just a set of headphones, right? They don't actually provide any other benefits aside from better sound quality and separating mic/in-game sounds (I read the whole "you can hear an enemy reloading from the other side of the map"- type comments)?

I'm guessing they're probably not going to enhance my L4D experience as to justify the $99 pricetag, but just in case, I thought I'd post on hear and see if anyone thinks otherwise.

News: Left 4 Dead 2 Update Released

Updates to Left 4 Dead 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Addons

Client's custom HUDs will be reloaded when changing between Official and Non-official servers.

GamePlay

Bullets that first pass through an infected character before striking a Survivor are now ignored as friendly fire.Fix for survivors speaking The Passing Finale lines in other campaigns.

Versus

Charger now receives 300 points for any Survivor that is insta-killed.
Charger now receives 100 points for any Survivor that is insta-incapped by a charge.Any infected that causes a Survivor to stumble into a "ledge hang" situation will receive 50 points.

Tank

Tanks go into a stasis when they spawn and leave stasis when the human player takes over.
Tanks in stasis are invisible but still show a glow to the infected team.
Tanks do not attack when they are in stasis.Tanks in stasis cannot be set on fire or damaged.

SDK Tools

Fixed crash whenever a VMT was loaded in L4D2 tools mode.

The image above is from our friends at the IP Factory. This Friday they are releasing their Left 4 Dead 2 range of strictly limited high end collectibles. First up is the Tank. Pre-orders go live Friday July 30th.

Today’s update covers quite a few subjects so we thought we should touch on a few of them.

When we did our blog poll on rage quitting we mentioned we would be working on some of the underlying issues. Left 4 Dead 2 doesn’t have a more rage or less rage button – well not directly�?�

We checked some stats, did some testing, checked more stats, and did more testing. We have many more changes we are working on, some ideas failed, some were exploitable, and some were just bad ideas. What we are releasing today is not the sum of our answer to the problem but simply some of the updates that are ready to ship. More are coming.

While we were testing other changes with the Charger, we were bothered that doing the right thing did not give you the best score. New players were often confused by this lack of feedback, so we fixed that.

Charger now receives 300 points for any Survivor that is insta-killed.

Friendly fire is never fun, especially when it really isn’t friendly fire. So in both Versus and Co-op we wanted to remove those times when you receive a friendly fire warning for shooting through an infected.

Failing at the Tank is miserable experience. We all know the feeling when you are trying to explain to your team - but he was already on fire! So we did some work there.

The updates aren't over and you should expect to see some more shortly. Plus what gets played more - Versus, Co-op, Survival, Single Player, or Scavenge?

If they made a video game where you're a member of the army and you have to shoot zombies. The zombies would walk slowly, mildly and also run. They could eat at dead civilians on the ground and when they attack you or get you on the ground, they bite at you, taking body parts off, etc.

You'd always feel like a faceless soldier, just one man with a massive army around.

It would also have thousands of zombies, and civilians trying to fight them off.

It would be incredibly graphic and violent. Awesome.

I have been sitting here for a long time wondering how the crap I'm to start my introduction. So, I'll start by saying hullo.

I am Nuwllpheie, my real Name is Vickie. You may call me either of these names, or Jean, Boyd, or Munchkin. Any is fine with my. I have been playing L4D for a few weeks. I have not played in Versus yet, as I don't want to join a zombie montage with people that may act like most Alliance people in Warsong Gulch. Especially as a newbie. *is a ninny*

I live in Missouri, US, have my entire life. My pastimes include playing L4D, role playing, watching Transformers (G1, Armada and Animated mostly), playing World of Warcraft, drawing, swimming, playing cello, and seeing how many watermelons I can eat before I pop. I can be extremely hyper at times, bu you shouldn't see me like that too often-as I'd instead be outside cackling like a maniac and doing stupid things. I tell you now I can be a spelling Nazi. And I... seem to spout random things out of the blue. I am easily entertained and although I have huge issues starting conversations, I love to talk with people.

If You Could Make an Infection, What Would It Be Like?

1.) How did it start and/or who began it?
2.) Was it done purposely or accidentally?
3.) Where did it start? Was it an adult, child, animal, what?
4.) How fast does it transmit to one person to another?
5.) Is there a cure?
6.) What kind of zombies would it create?
7.) How is tranferred (Bodily Fluids, Scratches, blahblahblah.)
8.) What happens to the infected individual? (Skin color change, boils, blahblahblah).

Here's What My Friend and I Came Up With:

1.) A new cigarette; "Trouba Smoking Products" (Trouba is "Zombie" in Czech), it's different because it's smoke is a faint yelloww with a hint of gray and its sponsors promise a less likely chance of cancer which leads people to smoke more. They believe it's true only because of the strange smoke and it's missing the harmful ingredients that make a regular cigarette deadly. It's a completely new formula, but they fail to tell you that's it's easier to get addicted to.

2.) The companyy believes they found a good way to keep the smokers (the non-zombie kind) happy and keep the amount of deaths caused my cancer lowered. However, an ingredient in the cigarette and it's smoke, when inhaled, causes infection.

3.) A biker club due to the lack of "No-Smoking Areas" through out the building. Those who don't even smoke are getting infected but don't realize it. It began through adults.

4.) They didn't have enough time to make a cure from how rapid it hit the U.S. population.

5.) The Recently Dead Zombie;
Run remotely fast, slightly strong, coughing or vomitting blood, boils, and sickly faces.

6.) Bodily fluid exchange, air-borne when the smoke is in the air, and scratches.

7.) In the beginning, they will cough and vomit blood, feel as if they have a fever, fatigue, starving oneself until death. They rise again as a zombie.

Not that great but we're just having fun.

Starcraft 2 Today

Boomer Vision

Man i remember when this game 1st came out..

Boomers would terrify me..

If i got boomered on i would have ran into a closet and spam melee until i could see again and all the zombies where dead. Basically I would be useless for about 15-20 seconds.

Things changed months after month,, I started to be a lil faster on my feet and started to be able to see abit through the bile and dodge the commons better.

Then L4D2 came out, a game where you can't CAMP or you may pay with an incap. Also L4D2 had realism and rolling cresendos that can force you to play through boomer biles wether you like it or not. Also it teaches you how not to rely on camping anymore, ever.

And now, for the most part getting boomered on doesn't even really blind me at all anymore, to the point where i can save players faster then the ones NOT boomered on. Even the zombies that come with it, barely even faze me unless they catch me at a bad moment. As in have to reload both weapons, melee fatigue, trying to help someone, smoker smoke in the eyes or mud in the eyes

Most of the time i don't even mind getting boomered on and will run through an area trying to act like a human pipe bomb.

Anyone else here still actually get blinded by the boomer and held by his horde? Cause i know alot of players have been desensitized to it and alot of others look like deers caught in a head light.

Ugh.. My idiot kid brother decided to reformat my Sony Handycam with a 30 gig HDD to support the Xbox 360, cuz he thought it would let him edit Save files. Now it's stuck in 360 Format, and I don't know how to fix it. Can someone help me out?

With it stuck like this, I can't make videos and stuff, and I have an upcoming YT project to do that requires this camera.

Couple questions

Some questions :

1. Does the damage from more than one molly stack on a tank? If I throw a molly and it hits a tank and my teammate throws one at the same time and hits him, does the tank take double the fire damage? Or did one of us just waste a molly?

2. People seem to love using the katana as a melee weapon. But is there really any difference between any of the melee weapons? Does the katana have longer range than, say, a frying pan? Is it faster than an axe? Is there anything about any of the melee weapons that separates them from any other one other than the graphics? Besides the chainsaw, of course.

3. I watched a YouTube vid of some guy playing through Blood Harvest on expert with bots at teammates. At one point he kills a smoker at long distance with the auto-shotgun with only one hit (maybe two, hard to tell from the video). Yet even when I'm at medium range, it still takes me three or four shotgun blasts to kill a smoker. What am I doing wrong? Would a lucky headshot at long distance with an auto-shotgun kill a smoker on expert? The vid (watch at 0:26) :

4. What's the deal with defibs? Why do I have so much trouble lining up the paddles? Where am I supposed to aim to get the connection so I can revive a teammate? I have so much trouble with that. Friggin embarrassing.

5. Say my teammate gets pounced by a hunter. All I have available is a grenade launcher. I fire one off at the hunter and hope for the best. Always kills the hunter with one shot, but what kind of damage am I doing to my teammate when I do that?

6. Similar question; my teammate is being pounded by a charger. I have a combat shotgun and I'm racing towards the charger and filling him with shotgun blasts. In my haste, I get an extra shot or two into him after he's already let go and died, thus, I'm actually shooting my teammate. Am I causing damage to him? Or does the game give a second or two grace period to allow for overenthusiastic rescuers like myself?

Establishing Audio from xbox onto computer speakers

Okay, So I'm trying to set myself up to play xbox on my computer monitor. So far I have a great set up that only requires me to change the input of my computer monitor, so I can go back and forth from computer to Xbox. Awesome.

Unfortunately, my monitor does not have audio speakers built in, which means I have to find a way to establish audio from my xbox to my computer speakers.

I already have a VGA cable but it's my friend and he lost the adapter.

Heres a 10 step process:Pipe your Xbox360 audio through your PC Speakers in 10 steps. My Thoughts

My question however is - Can I purchase this item?

And still achieve the same results? Aka can I just put the audio wires into the female splitter, plug that into my computer, etc.?

Or is there another way to do it without my purchasing any items? I'm trying to get creative here.

I also have Turtle Beaches, so I dont know if that would help at all.

Steam not installing L4D2

Hey guys...

I got the Left 4 Dead 2 DVD yesterday, installed Steam then Activated the Left 4 Dead 2 through Activate a Product option.
Now I have Left 4 Dead 2 on my games library so i right clicked it and Clicked install but Steam is Downloading the whole game as I have the installion files in the DVD. My net speed is not fast and even though i have the files in the DVD downloading is just waste of time.

So please if there is any way I could Install it through Disk...Do lets me know

I have ATI Radeon 1300 Series and the requirements say 128 MB And I have 512 MB and i have Shader and it also says X800 and it is over X800.

What am I Missing?

Problem With L4D2 Add On Support!

I have a problem with l4d add on support, i have this tool installed but when im trying to play L4D2 in online campaing mode a message appears:

Left 4 Dead Add-on Support has not yet finished installing.
Please wait until the installation is complete and restart the game before attempting to run any add-ons.

I tried to reinstall the game and reinstall the add-on, and check the integrity of cache... please need HELP!

Each week, post your ultimate pwnage story here, could be on Campaign, Versus or Scavenge, doesn't matter.

Me, Mince and Bliss were playing VS on The Parish, all of us weren't using Mics, and we got a team of people who used Mics. Anyway, we kept making it to the saferoom eachtime we were survivors, there was two moments where three of us died and the last one standing made a beeline for the Saferoom and got there.

The other team?, NEVER made it to the saferoom, we actually made some RAGE QUIT!.

We end up winning 2010 to 556 i think.

So, since the era of Gears Of War, most of us have gotten comfortable with how the game has matured over the very few years it has been on the XBOX360. A definitive gameplay that has a very geniune feel to it. And a true worthy title of its Game of The Year, and the other hundred of awards and near perfect critiques that have made this game a landmark.

Now, with Gears of War 3 we as gamers have a chance to take part in writing and possibly "changing" the outcome to the ending we've all been wanting to see since the first shed of trailer they have showed. Carmine, yes the 3rd out of 4th band of brothers has his fate in our hands. We could finally either put to rest, the seemingly endless bad luck, or kill him with no remorse.

Two things I'd like to point out is several of these clues that I have seen, and would like to post them up for everyone to toil over:

> One perticular Carmine states that he is one of 4 brothers. So far. There have been 3 confirmed names and 2 confirmed killed. Where would the 4th on be?

> Clayton Carmine, as the new name states, follows in alphabetical order from Anthony and Benjamin. Comparing Clayton to both, you can tell that Clayton is in serious beast mode. And he's not a man to be fucked around with. His strength took him to such lengths during the war. Why kill him off now?

Here's more on the topic at hand. What you may not catch in the video are things that I will explain.

1. Since July 24th at Hardrock, those votes have started early now there are no words on where it stands but I assure you that it might be really closely tied.

What would you say your pros and cons are in Left 4 Dead?
MY PROS:

I'll go back to help people
I wont cling on to a health item
Infected don't often hit me.
Use items at the best time
I stay with my teamates, sometimes a bit ahead but then I stall and wait for them.
I am a master of melee weapons
I'm good with almost every weapon.

MY CONS:

My accuracy is good but sometimes friendly fire is an issue
My tactic with the Tank is hit and run. That being throwing a Molotov at it and ditching my teamates (becoming supper for Hunters)
I rarely give out pills and the like before a crecscendo.

Problem: Recently i been getting high Ping/Latency during gameplay online in L4D. Ping goes up when some one get vomited on or horde comes, goes from 80-300 or worst. but slowly drops down as horde goes away. i have try connecting directly to the modem with a Ethernet cable but the problem still occurs, made sure nothing in the back round was taking internet usage and etc. when this happens the game becomes laggy and becomes hard to play until horde goes away i have eveything on the lowest setting and features disabled, i have resolution max out and muti-rednering on but i have disable/lower and still occurs not sure what to do.

P.S- L4D2 have this problem as well.

Moving health packs?

Hey guys, I'm new here, been playing l4d2 for about 3 weeks now.. so I was playing survival the other day on the bridge level, by the time I got there, there were only bots, but I noticed a bunch of health packs on the top part of the bridge from the people playing before I got there. I'm wondering how was that possible? I didn't know you could move health packs, specially on the top part where the only way to get there is with the ladder... if you know how plz let me know, I made a quick search but didn't find anything about that.

btw why are most people stupid on survival mode? most I've played with don't even have a plan, I hate it when I'm there taking my time setting up gas tanks etc and then a bunch of idiots come in and call the horde, maybe a mic would help so I can yell at them lol is just hard to come by descent players that actually want to survive and not shoot at each other, maybe there should be a death match mode to stop that :D

Here is my skills. Tell me what you think.:

Survivor: I'm doing fine as a survivor, I stick with my teammates and use teamwork against the zombies. What I don't like is bots. Rating 10/10

Smoker: I'm good at the Smoker, I can find a good spot and sometimes I use camoflage (correct this plz). Rating 8/10

Hunter: I'm EXTREMLY awesome at the hunter. But I need to work on my aim better. Rating 9/10

Boomer: Now I suck at the boomer, I cannot get a survivor (I can only get 1 survivor but sometimes I can get all 4 if I ambush them). And everytime I try to get close to the survivor, I die. Rating 3/10

Charger: Now sometimes I can get a survivor, sometimes I can't. When I try to charge at a survivor, I'm whether blocked, or the game is playing dumb and not letting me get the survivor. Rating 5/10

Spitter: I'm good at the spitter also, but I have a hard time figuring out when to spit. I can sometime aim for where they are going but when the spit reaches the ground the survivors already passed it. Rating 6/10

Jockey: I'm good at the jockey. Rating 8/10

Tank: When I'm the tank, I can get to the survivors (sometimes I can't). I co-operate with my teammates (but my dumbass teammates dont co-op with me) and I try my best to get to the survivors. Rating 9/10

Dead Center Speedrun

I decided to speedrun DeC and finished it in 18 minutes. Splitscreen questions (PC)

I have a few questions regarding splitscreen on the PC.

First: How do I enable it

Second: If I wish to splitscreen, would one keyboard and one wired 360 controller work, or would I need two controllers?

Third: I run two monitors, I would like one player's screen to appear on one, and one to appear on the other. I realize this would likely require me to lower my resolution on my larger monitor, which is fine, I merely need guidance on how to do this (I have seen screenshots of it)

Just Locked A Tank In Saferoom

On Expert in Dead Air 3 where there is an upper deck. Was the only one alive so I went into the saferoom to seek refuge, but left the door open as I figured he'd break through it anyway. Tank comes in and climbs up the second deck, I jump down and close the safe room door behind me and he couldn't get out. Funny shit because I was shooting at him through the door with a single pistol. Suprised no Special Infected helped. There's usually one lurking during a Tank fight to fuck your plan up. Anyway, rescued them in the closet and started the horde while I just left the Tank there to rot.

I've seen Tanks locked in ending saferooms, but not in starting ones. Poor bastard.

L4D Error (PC)

Hi, I have a problem In L4D whenever i start it up.
Once I start it up, The Valve and Source images come up fine.
After The Intro Finishes my screen goes to a load Screen,
with no particular campaign, it just has Louis,Zoey,Francis and bill surrounded by zombies in a green background.
Can Anyone please help me with this problem?
