I just wanted to point out that the reputation system here needs a little bit of work. Very little to be honest, simply, there is currently no way to check your rep-power, or check any reputation you've received.

I suppose there might be a reason to leave it this way, in order to preserve anonymity and avoid conflict, but I'm not sure if it's intentional. Anyway, just putting it out there, do what you will.

So I know who's better than me and who I can boss around, duh.

It's probably simply because I'm used to seeing it. "No need" is just as good as any other reason though, so I'm satisfied. :]

They are your reputation, not your rep power.

Reputation you earn, rep power is the amount of reputation points you can give or take away.

As far as I am aware, a number of factors such as post count, join date and general activity is taken into account.

Posts posted/Threads created
Reputation received
How long you've been a member
Activity

I'm sure there are other things but I can't recall them from the top of my head.

And just for the record; you give it with the scales icon [

] and view it through your User CP (both given and received).

Well the only people iv'e seen with rep over one is Alan and Dangar^.

I think we should use rep more.

Agreed, I always though rep was a good thing. It encourages good posting and reprimands the bad, what more could you ask for?
I haven't given out much reputation yet, but I certainly plan to do it if I see some good posting.
