Question #3: C -- Because any melee weapon is going to be useless against any more than two Zombies. A shotgun is far to powerful for someone my age and is not effective as a killing weapon (for Zombies) at a long range.
A small pistol (9mm or .22, no larger) would be a good, accurate weapon that can be used at any range against groups of several infected even by someone like me with very limited weapons experience (I've only used a .22 rifle, although I'm pretty good with it).
