I got the Orange Box (along with Left 4 Dead, woo!) for the 360 at Christmas. Little did I know I needed a Gold membership to play Team Fortress 2. I caved and got the Gold membership....I've been loving it ever since, especially when I have a game where people know what they hell they are doing! I was going to get TF2 for the PC but they hardly sell on PC were I live.

So to save me $100 (AU) next Christmas, is it worth getting it on PC? What are the main differences in gameplay, team co-op and class types?

I haqve had TF2 on PC since release, but owing to my clan commitments to QW at the time, and L4D now, don't get to play it as much as I'd like to.

It's a great game, and fun with clanmates. TAW have a decent sized TF2 Division and they're great team players so I usually look for some of them to jump into a game with.

The PC version has advantages and disadvantages.

Main advantages are modding and extra maps/content and more players.

Main disadvantage is the problem finding an unmodified/tweaked server at times!

Yeah I've seen the modded maps on YouTube videos etc. I like them but I'd rather prefer most of the original content. Though I do love the sprays, they make me laugh. Also to mention the weapon upgrades and all that...

TF2 is a stellar game, through and through. However, I seldom get to play with people I know, and as a result, don't play it as often as I'd like.

My one qualm with the game is the slowly released added content. The content itself is pure gold; still maintains balanced characters while adding new crap, but the fact that they do it a class at a time leads to a lot of lopsided class selection when they release these things. I'd of rather waited for the 9 classes to be finished, then have people work towards what they wanted. I've unlocked all current gear that's released (though haven't gotten all the achievements), so I've lost some incentive to play. Before, I just played to play.

If I see any of you guys on though, I'd follow.

It gives me a headache after about an hour of play, but I do love the team aspect of the game, much much better than counter strike

I play it and love it. The only reason I'm not playing it a bunch now is because it's after November 18th.

To give you an idea... now mind you I was unemployed at the time but, you know that tracker on your steam page, for how many hours you've played in 2 weeks? Well, my record of all games was 115 hours on TF2.

That's how fucking awesome that game is. You should play with me and try out medic first, since I'm the best heavy you'll meet. No bullshit.

I play it and I absolutely love it. I agree with whoever said it is the perfect multiplayer game! That's the reason I was on 10 - EAGLES SCREAM! in steam for a couple of months...

They just need to release the new weapons soon

PLAY IT NOW, i like it more than left 4 dead. l4d is pretty much something im using to wait for the new achievement packs. but l4d is still my second favorite.

it is by far the best MP game ever made. so so many good times to be had in that game, backstabbing a pesky sniper, sniping a pesky cloaked spy by accident as he's coming across the bridge, uber-ing a heavy and owning a whole team in 5 secs., crit rocketing an ubered heavy and seperating him from his medic then killing him, I could go on and on. you must play this game. I play on 360 so don't have to worry about the whole modded servers thing but also don't get the updates nearly as fast as the PC.

I recently saw that valve are offering a "megapack", consisting of Orangebox, Portal, L4D and Counterstrike Source for about $100 / £75.

I already have the OB and L4D on Xbox360 however if I can meet certain standards I may fork out for it on the pc just for the Mod content sans Live-charges.

Question is: Will all that run on a Geforce integrated GPU? I have a i630 which is equivalent to a Geforce7100. CPU is Quadcore 8200(2.4) and RAM 3GB.

I don't mean to turn this into a Will this run post, but I would love to play matches with you folks in PC-Land (after all is that is where I started gaming, until I got demoted by the missus

)

It's a great game, I juggle it with L4D and CS every now and then. I like it better than L4D at times if I just want to play real quick (I don't like quitting during l4d because I hate when other people do that). I've wasted a few days in game time in TF2.

TF2 in my opinion is robably the best Team Deathmatch games that Valve has ever produced.

And sure Al ill whoop your but anytime of day. Even with my LAG!
