The Support Forum, The Community And You: The Essential Guide to Asking a Question
The Support Forum, The Community, And You:
The Essential Guide to Asking a Question
Before you ask a question in our Problems and Errors section, we would like to ask that you make yourself familiar with the following methods of posting. In doing so you not only help us, but yourself, by making your question as clear as possible and providing all the necessary information.
Primarily, we ask that you use the respective Thread Prefix to denote the type of problem you are facing. Additionally, please attach a copy of your DXDiag to the post, this way we can be sure to have the most vital information about your system.
In the posts below you can find general help on the use of this support forum, explanations for each prefix as well as a brief tutorial on using the DxDiag feature.
------------------ Classifying Your Problem: A Brief Guide to Using the Prefixes
The Support Forum makes use of four different prefixes to keep the threads organised. These prefixes are available during the creation of a new thread, to the left of your Thread Title Bar. The four prefixes are Xbox360, Server, Graphics and Crash.
The usage scenarios are as follow:- Xbox360: For problems relating to the Xbox 360.
- Server: For problems with game servers, primarily hosting.
- Graphics: For problems with graphic cards and drivers.
- Crash: For "Game keeps crashing" type scenarios.

------------------ Posting Your System Specs: A Guide to DxDiag

So, one of the main things that helps a person when identifying the source of the issue that you're having is your overall system specifications. To get a rundown of your computers specs all you have to do is run a little process called a DxDiag. Here is what you need to do to accomplish this:
- Hit the start button on your Taskbar and open Run.
- Simply type in dxdiag and hit OK.
- A program will open called DirectX Diagnostic Tool and will begin accumulating all of the data on your systems exact specifications.
- There should be a progress bar in the bottom right corner of the application. Wait until that's finished, and then click Save All Information... It will ask you where you want to save it. Just go ahead and slap it on your desktop. (You can delete it later)
- When posting the DxDiag you can either just attach the file in your post or you can copy and paste it into your post completely. Nevertheless, we should only need a portion of the DxDiag to assist in resolving the issue. The portion that we would need is shown below. Also, try and consolidate it within the code function, etc.
