by helping a brother out you mean getting enough people to try it out so you get your free mount?

I hoped Warhammer would kill World of Warcraft, but it doesn't even hold a candle to it or do Mythic's old MMO Dark Age of Camelot any justice.

Agreed from what I've seen. I should probably give it a once over though.

I played that sucker for a year + of beta and a few months of retail and bailed because they kept dicking things up the beta testers specifically told them not to do and vice versa.

For instance, your basic ranged magic caster, 1/3 specs (3 specialization trees) was overpowered, while the other 2 were absurdly weak. All through beta I among tons of other caster players told them to balance them, nerf the imba one and buff the other two. What did they do? Buffed the imba one and left the other 2 stagnant, retail comes along and within the first 2 or so months monsoon after monsoon worth of people crying and QQing they nerf the shit out of the imba line and leave the other 2 to be mediocre.

Mythic SPECIFICALLY said they learned from their mistakes from DAOC making knee jerk nerf/buffs and won't listen to whiners anymore yet here we are. And don't get me started on the piss poor RvR the game launched with, hell and still had even after I left months later.

WAR doesn't even hold a candle to DAOC.

A bump to state I started playing this, now on the Iron Rock server (which may be unavailable to you if you start the 10 day free trial via their site, but you can transfer your character when you sub), and I have to admit, it's pretty solid. 1.3 just released, and I'm having a pretty good time with it. WAR's PVP beats WoW hands down, and it does a bunch of other little things better too, but I doubt it (or any other MMO for some time) will see the same numbers.

I recently tried Warhammer out and I can tell you it's left me unimpressed. While the PvP aspect of it all was great you'll notice a huge decline in games once you hit near level twenty, and the open world PvP is highly in favor of the order who seem to have overwhelmingly higher numbers. But my main gripe with the game is the lack of community and general population. You can go into the capital, a huge city the size of all the WOW capitals stitched together, and you will find this place virtually empty. When I went at peak times the most people I saw at once was around twenty , maybe it could have been just the servers I was playing on but it seems like Warhammers a sinking ship of sorts, and it's never fun to join an MMO as it's on the tail end of it's lifespan.
