I have to disagree with this.

For one NK has dick for nuclear weapons, they may have some(which hasn't been confirmed) but they aren't very large. 2nd they don't have any ICBM system that can reliably deploy them, only short range scud missiles.

China- Also isn't a large nuclear power. That country only has a very large conventional military, and its economic system isn't very large.

Russia is the only real threat, however, they are not the soviet union and also are not as big as they once were.

Now remember, I am talking nuclear war. I don't see how china or NK can really start, or participate one, and Russia wouldn't do it alone.

People thought it would end in 1997, then 2000, now 2012. It's an endless cycle of scaremongering. If you did some healthy research, you'd find that quite a few doomsday scenarios are impossible.

People said bird flu would wipe out humanity, but it didn't. Swine flu has already reached its peak, and it's not even that deadly. SARS was supposed to destroy the world, but it seems fine to me. A meteor was supposed to hit last year and pulverise the earth, but it didn't because of scientific miscalculation (It would have already happened).

And it's funny how all these doomsday theories end up selling a book or movie.

Yeah, I mean, the end of this cycle on the Mayan calender isn't meant to foretell doomsday, it's a time of celebration. I am just sick of scaremongers saying that this is the end of the world. It shows that some people will do the most outrageous things to get attention and be listened to. I mean, we're translating a language that's thousands of years old. Who's to say what we're interpreting is right? Don't you think that maybe what the historians are reading could be something completely different? For all we know, they could be translating a shopping list.

As to the economy crash and swine flu, we're already getting good news about it. So much for that herald of doom.

North Korea, if they would use nuclear weapons, would be like a 4 year old with firecrackers. First, a few nukes could take care of that tiny country. Second, the nukes they have are more of the same reason that Pakistan to keep India away, or, in N. Korea's case, South Korea and Japan (and other countries of course). China goes to, almost, this example as well. Most countries that have nukes will never use them, they are to make them look strong, usually smaller countries because of how they can be wiped out easily. Russia is the bigger threat because they are so huge, it's harder to find weapon stashes, basically it's size as a country gives it a huge advantage, and it's strength economic and military wise is a bigger plus.
