I doubt it... Valve recommends at least 1GB of RAM on Windows XP, and 2GB on Vista. 512mb is not enough I'm afraid. Of course, you could always just try it and see what happens.

The bigger question is "Can your internet connection handle it". How fast is your upstream internet?

Based on what I've seen, your computer would probably handle a co-op or versus server. I would not try a survival server though. If you use it, set it up as private and see how it works. It might not be enough.

We had a 2500+ running a single CSS server and it was barely enough with 10-12 people in the game.

I seriously doubt you have a 100 mbps connection. That maybe the speed of your lan card, but not the speed of your internet. Your internet upstream speed is very important. If you live in the US, goto Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and check your internet speed. If not, someone else can probably direct you to a site that can test your speed there.

I will say that I was suprised at how little bandwidth the game takes on average. I've had 40+ players on my server and the upstream averaged 450 KB/sec. This is the equivalent of about 4 mbits upstream with overhead. In fact, I probably wouldn't run it with less than 5 mbits at that level. You need some overhead room when serving games.

Let us know what your internet upstream/downstream speed is. The last thing you want to do is start up a substandard server.

No its not my home connection's speed, i was talking about a dedicating server. But i found more cheaper one and here the info:

Intel® Celeron® 220
32 / 64 Bits
2 gb DDR2 ram
100 Mbit/sec

Now can i host a vs map with these?

You'll need at least 2.4Ghz of processing power and dual or quad cores at that.
Celeron 220 is a single core 1.2Ghz embedded cpu. I'd be surprised if Counterstrike ran well on it. Expect to pay 300 to 400 USD a month for a server...
