ok this is just getting annoying.
since the DLC i haven't really played NM or BH, i've mainly been playing DA and a little DT so i'm not sure if it's just on the new maps, but also since the update the AI director has been extremely one sided, almost every game.
one team gets about 6-10 extra medkits per level and loads of pain pills, while the other team gets about 1-4 medkits and almost no pain pills, and that's not counting the 4 they started with. basically the team that gets more medkits can heal as soon as their health goes below 50 and find another medkit around the next corner and get to finish all in green with medkits, while the other team has to save their medkits as long as possible and ends off in red health with no medkits when they get to the saferoom, that is if a hunter doesn't run up behind them and mele them all once...
i've been on both sides of this, but i'm normally on the side that gets almost nothing and it's starting to get really annoying. i don't mind one team getting a few more then the other but i personally think there should be a limit to how many medkits spawn, so we don't have one team getting 2 and the other getting 10. i wouldn't mind if the limit was set to something like 4, getting 10 is way too many in my opinion, you shouldn't get a medkit every time your health drops below 50.
has anyone else been having this problem recently? it's been happening almost every game for me and it's just getting annoying.

i havent experienced this very much and if i did it was small advantages (which makes the game fun)
but then again i ussually only play NM or DT
|

I only sympathize with the OP because lately every Versus game has been Dead Air or Death Toll, or right when a NM or BH map starts, everybody votes to change to DA / DT!. What happened to the good ol' maps we used to play for several months?, I still think they are worthy enough to play on...

A few months later, they won't care for either map and instead theyll be playing the mod maps that they dled.

i wonder if it has something to do with those campaigns? those campaigns are a bit harder then the old 2 (in my opinion) maybe valve increased the amount of medkits you get because of that? but even if that's true, i still think people are getting too many, don't mind them getting more but a medkit around almost every corner is a bit too much.
and to uberuser, i'm not sure about PC, but on xbox people still play the other 2 campaigns, just search for a game on that campaign. i just like the newer 2 because there's 20+ damage jumps everywhere, before those maps came out i had landed 2 20+ jumps, now i can normally land several per game on DA

Pisshaaw, there's plenty of 20+ jumps on NM/BH, more so with NM though. On BH, for the most part you need to know how to vertical jump on those trees and light posts to get good spots.
But to the point - Are you sure you're not just looking at it from the wrong perspective?
By this I mean, if your team gets 3-4 med kits, you never really think about the other side and if they're ranting and raving about how lucky we are. Because we don't think in that mind set - only , score, we got some medkits, now person X heal up.
My team mates were bitching about that once an I just responded, well - to be fair, we did get X amount of med kits too.
I haven't noticed a disparity among medkits and teams, usually if one team 2-3 medkits, so will the other team. It's just that one team may have their medkits in a much more obscure place.

i'm usually not the kind of person to complain because i generally just assume it was fair for both sides. but after several games it made me wonder if one team actually was getting more, so in one game (it was on DA3) i decided to count the medkits both teams got, the other team went first they got 10 medkits (not counting the 4 they started with,) i was able to talk my team into searching every inch of the map for medkits, we found 5. the next level was the same thing, they got 8 we got 4.
so now i don't go that far to search for medkits, but i do try to search every place i can without falling behind, and i keep count, and i find that it's not every game but it seems to happen a lot. and of course i've been on both sides of this.

i'm not very good at landing on those small objects yet, i prefer places i can quickly run/jump up to before they leave the area, because i'm not overly good at getting high pounces yet either so i tend to miss a lot, don't want to waste too much time setting up if there's a good chance i'll miss

yeah it seems the AI director likes to keep us as the target no matter what side we're on :sad:
anyways, i have had the same kind of experience all too many times. its one thing for the other team to get medkits up the wazoo while we dont get shit. but ive seen this the other way too, mainly with tank spawns. my team triggers a tank while we're clustered in a 4 ft wide hallway while the directer pushes our tank far enough until the survivors have a good soccerfield worth of space to fight it with.
i love the idea of having a health item cap. there are few things worse than seeing all your hardwork as infected go to waste once they stumble upon a stash of medkits -.-
