i cnt play survival mode becoz wen i type "mp_gamemode survival" on the console, it says that "unknown command:mp_gamemode" i dnt knw wht to do.. i wnt to play survival mode...... i dnt have steam...

Not here please, we don't tolerate piracy. If you like the game, buy it (on Steam) and support the game devs for the intense stress they have to go through making the game and keeping its community happy.

i play left 4 dead on a pc shop..... the owner bought a steam on it... i guess he didn't activated it.......

what to type on console????

i usually type: mp_gamemode survival; map sv_deadzone(or map sv_l4d_deadzone)

then, when i activated the switch to alert the horde, nothing happens

He bought a legal L4D copy on every PC there? Hmm, that must be very expensive.

When you entered the console command and the map finishes loading, is there a timer on top of your screen? If there is none, you probably done the command wrong.

PS. You can enter those commands seperately without the semicolon. (e.g. enter mp_gamemode survival first then map <yourmap> after).

Never ever in my life have I seen a computer shop/internet cafe/cybercafe/whatever using completely legal games. Yes, there are multiple shops with Geniune copies of an OS, but rarely geniuine copies of games.

If you visit my country, you'll see that 95% of all shops use pirated software for everything in their PCs. Even the big cafe chains use fake software. Only the private shops (with only at least 1-3 venues) uses geniuine content.

Oh, and in my place, a run down living room filed with computers of the 90s is considered a shop. Who cares about 5fps on Warcraft 3, at least you're playing.
