Scrafice sound for gameplay
I was having sounloop and lagging issuies with my game, so i followed the advice off one of the fourms which told me to
"Check to make sure you only have one sound device installed
start > run > dxdiag > If you have more then 1 Sound tab, uninstall the one that isn't your sound card."
I couldnt find the option to delete one called "Modem #0 line playback" so i *disabled* Sigmatel high definition audio CODEC and my game now works like a charm.
The thing is though there is absolutly no sound in the game or on my computer which is annoying cause i have to keep inableing Sigmatel to get sound and disable it to play the game in annoying silence
Am i doing this wrong ? Has anyone else done this and found away around the silence problem?

What you want to do is just make sure that you don't have both an onboard sound card, and a PCI type sound card. Typically you disable the onboard so they don't conflict.
Go into your Windows Device Manager and see if you have any exclamation points showing up under your sound device list.

You may have to uninstall the sound card from your device manager and then reboot and let it reinstall itself.

I think I would do whatever you need to do to get your computer back to having sound in Windows and all your other applications first.
Once you have done that, you can start fiddling with the settings to get the game to run correctly.
BTW...you DO realize you only have half the RAM that the minimum specs call for, right? Your dxdiag says you only have 512MB, minimum specs calls for 1GB, recommended 2GB.
I would also lower your desktop resolution to 800x600 and see if your game will work better. You may have it cranked up too high, and 1280 may be causing your lag problems.

I think your PC will support up to 2GB of RAM, but check to be sure. I would just buy two 1GB sticks and that should be plenty.

Just wondering about the RAM , I checked around online and i came across instructions on how to increase the RAM:
"My Computers>Properties>Control Panel>System Icon>Advanced Tab>Preformance(settings)>Advanced Tab>Change Button>"
I am a bit concerd about doing this because of a comment left under it which said
"lol... another noob trying to convince ppl increasing the paging file is good for performance. paging file has to be 1,5 times the actual ram. less may couse crashes since the computer has no alternative when it runs out of real ram. more will decrease the perfomance (or leave it the same) of your system since the virtual memory is quite slow and it makes the programs that run on it slow. "
So should i be messing whith this thing or is there a certain way of equaling it out, I checked and my computer dose support 2GB RAM.

Those directions are for increasing Virtual Memory, which you DO NOT want for gaming. What it does is create fake RAM on your hard drive which basically prevents programs from running out of memory and failing to run.
You must increase your actual RAM. Once you do that, your Virtual Memory should be 1.5 times the amount of physical memory. Usually you can leave that setting alone and Windows will handle it for you.
