Nope, we are doomed. We can't even get ourselves out of this economic crisis, and work together to stop global warming. What makes you think we can handle this? We all know that we would run for our lives and spread the disease like butter on a frying pan. Hell, by the time the government gets word and verification on it the city would be totally infected and spreading. If there was a plan, it would involve a lot of bombing of public transportation like the Dead Air airport, but nothing would get through. The boat would be gone, the news chopper 5 would be down, there would be no military outpost echo. Good luck hoofing it out of the forest.

I reckon they'd get the president safe first. I'd like to think that at the very least, the military would survive... Then slowly retake the infected cities (or bomb the larger infected cities).

I like how you could see parts of what happened in I am Legend. It shows the infected taking over the white house. If I were president I'd get my ass on a plane to a military base in the desert though.

In an ideal scenario....

Local hospitals would identify the outbreak early on and begin immediate quarantine procedures to contain the outbreak. If the infected managed to get out of control, or if the infected (though not necessarily out of control) area grows too large, the area could be evacuated and the military called in to deal with the situation.

As the ultimate, final, last resort, nuclear weapons could be used (in theory) to cleanse the area of whatever contagion is causing the outbreak.

The white house clip is in the first couple of minutes, so you won't need to wait for it to load entirely if that's all you want to watch.

First there's a shot of a woman speaking in front of the white house, and you hear shots, and the military start shooting.

Then you'll see a shot of a camera man in the white house, and a person shouting that they've taken over or got in or something like that. And then a zombie attacks the camera man :P

All in all, it's very quick, and only a few flashes. No sign of the president of course.

How Canada would deal with the infection:

First, we'd pray to the sun that it be freaking one of our colder seasons of winter. If this was the case, then we'd probably be boned, as we would pay no attention to the infection, as it's Hockey season. So on top of that distraction, we're probably drunk too. Not the best time to be trying to cordinate any type of reaction against this infection.

However, if that wasn't the case and we were alert and more focused on this instead of our beer and hockey; we would first focus on getting a large barrier constructed between Quebec and it's surrounding provinces. This would ensure, that once we have transported (not killed) all the infected to this area, we could initiate what the Quebecer's have been ranting and whining about for years. Seperation!

I'm actually not sure they would do much, they would obviously encourage everybody to evacuate, but I deffinatly think many would stay. The goverment would probably get as many people as they could into an underground layer, in which would be guarded by many layers.
