I thought that aside from Halo Wars, Bungee officially stated that they completed the Halo series? I don't know how the story plays out and therefore if it's possible, the only Halo I played was the first one.

There's a theory that the Marathon series was a prequel/sequel to the Halo series, and that its games form just another story arc in a giant space opera. Halo is another story arc, and the ending (that is to say, the Legendary ending) of Halo 3 sets the stage for another games series (that, although officially unrelated in terms of the title and so forth, would in effect by another story arc).

I believe that if there were to be a "successor," if you will, to Halo 3, it won't actually be a Halo game (i.e. no Halo 4, but rather a new title). It will have some basis on Halo 3 (the most obvious guess is a lone super warrior who is trapped on a harsh planet, which is the likely extrapolation of the ending of Halo 3 being made into a new game), but it won't be a direct continuation of the series.

Noo the last thing to come from halo is Halo 3 Recon, as people consider it to be Halo 4. I think Recon is a spinoff between Halo 2 and Halo 3. But anyhow, no such thing as Halo 4, no such thing as the movie as I have come to see, and those videos on Bungie.net are not movie previews, just small collaboration they had put together.

+1. I've said it elsewhere, the game really isn't all that hot. It's another shooter clone, albeit relatively solid.

I don't follow the Halo hype much, but didnt Bungie bail on MS? If MS still has the rights to Halo, is Bungie making it? If not, prepare for a sad fanboy following for 4.

I do think a movie would be kinda cool to see though.

You're quite right, the game itself didn't bring much new to the table, that being said I did enjoy the story and had a lot of fun playing through them. The multi player, to me at least, was just to twitchy to be much fun. I would have really loved to see a movie based on the series, as I think they had a good story line. I've read a few of the novels in my spare time and think that they have taken the time to build the universe into something they should be proud of.
