Surprisingly, it looks fun as hell. You can customize your character and there is a constant campaign taking place, with battles won or lost affect the outcome of it.

That's pretty stupid and close minded (no offence).

If that's a TF2 rip-off because it has cartoon-y styling and isn't meant to be too serious then every war game which looks realistic and is serious is a rip-off of the one before it.

TF2 did not invent the cartoon style.

I could say that TF2 is a rip-off of Evil Genius (the graphics are the same style).

I think most of you are missing the true issue(s) here:

1: no game is free unless of course you're downloading it from The Pirate Bay or something. As far as I know this game plans to add character purchase options that the player (you, you homo) can buy to upgrade (in looks only I believe) their 'toons'. I'm sure this will continue with new weapons, maps, etc era and people will want to jump on that band wagon so their 'no left behind'. I believe this is how Dice is hoping to profit from this game. I mean no one spends time and money to create something for free, ya know?

2: this game is going to be filled with kids probably 12+. I guess for younger teens (14+), this isn't an issue but for someone like me (27) this isn't something I'm looking forward too. I can see it now -- the myspace clans! ...

3: this is going to be like an extended flash game, imo, nothing more. Like those flash sites where you can go and create a virtual toon and chat with other peoples virtual toons. You know those ones right? I can't remember the name but they're advertised all over the place. This is the same idea just different concept.

I don't think so, no. It's cell shaded because of it's graphical limitations. Not going to get DX10 effects going on in this game.

Go on then, and I'll call you pretty stupid and closed minded. Evil Genius is not a FPS. TF2 is, BF Heroes is.

No.

I take offence at being referred to as a fanboi, of Valve or of anything else. There is an obvious similarity, TF2 has a pretty unique style for a FPS. EA appear to be leaning towards that style.

Yes I do see what you're saying but I have to disagree that BF:H is a rip-off of TF2.

Just because they're the same genre and have a similar styling doesn't make one rip-off of the other. Like I said; that would make almost every game a rip-off of another game...

Btw; the comment at the end about fanboys wasn't directed at you. That was just directed at 90% of SUF.

As for what you're saying CAW: Meh, I'll give it a shot. If they decide to go "OK, you gotta pay now" I'll stop... No loss.

I think they're going to have 'classes' too though in this game. If they do then yeah, I'm sure they've looked at TF2 and said something like: "this works, lets do it too!". It's DICE, it's EA, nuff said.

They went into cartoonish direction but not the same as TF2.

Exactly.

Try as you might to make it seem a TF2 rip-off... It isn't. All they've done which is the same as TF2 is the graphics... Which as I've mentioned; TF2 was not the first game to use cell shaded textures (bah, the name is something like that anyway).

Just because its EA doesn't make it a bad game/rip-off
