Which admin mods actually work (linux)?

Hi All,

I've been trying to get some admin mods working (Mani's, MM: Source, SourceMod, etc), and I've just been running into major issues. The worst issue is that after installing and configuring MM:S, the server will cycle through only the first map in each campaign. Complete the first Mercy map and when it's supposed to load the second, it starts the first map of Dead Air, and so on and so forth.

For those people running a l4d dedicated server in Linux: which admin mods/packages are you using and are they working OK?

Last I checked on SourceMod it was still in Alpha... I'd expect it to be another month or two before they get the kinks worked out of them.

The Motto of opensource is release soon, and release often... I'd rather they waited a bit longer. Also I'd imagine those mods would cause problems if a group joins via the Lobby system.

Currently there is no huge incentive for people to make servers since you can't really control anything on your server...

Thanks for the input, Mytheral. I've been on some servers that have custom popups and all that, telling how much damage you've done or taken, or spamming warnings of "respect us or else!" Back in the day I was a Tribes modder and knew how to do that in T2, but I am not sure how people are doing this in l4d.

I'm modifying srcds.py (SourceForge.net: SRCDS.py) to be compatible with l4d, but it's not a gui and L4D Commander (Left 4 Dead remote commander Potential Gamer) still has some issues to work out before it's really useful for anything besides viewing server status. For both of these packages, I'm gonna send my fixes to the authors and see if we can't get something better out to community.

I'm also planning on logging everything on my server into MySQL, so that I can keep longterm statistics. I will start working on the scripts for that once I get more work done on the stuff I mentioned above.
