Weird graphic card problem

HI im new to this forum so be gentle

My problem is that i have played L4D for about an month now no problems.
Today i installed the latest drivers for my nvidia geforce 9800GT and a problem popped out. Every time i try to play the game i get these weird 1-10 second stops to the game where the sound and screen just freezes like its having a lagspike but thats not the case sence the problem apeared right after i updated my graph card also i tried it on singleplayer and it didnt work there either as it was supposed to.

And before anyone asks yes i have reinstalled L4D and it didnt work.

Any suggestions hints or clues would be greatly appreciated.

The driver was the 181.20

I didnt see it necesary to link my cpu info here sence im 100% its not about my pc sence it runned L4D without any hicups for a month and the problems accured straight after the driver instalation.

Yo the new drivers dnt support l4d heres a link to the link were u can download them...There is also other problem fixes here if u encounter any..if this doesnt resolve ur questions then post back again :3
