What happened?

Why do members now see the adverts? Is it just me? Is this a sign of the impending doom of the forum? Is it getting harder to pay the bills and the admins need the money? Will this forum slip into disrepair, showing the ultimate failure of human endevour to find the American dream...or something?

They're not even that relevant...I don't really want to join a gay dating website..or do I?

Yes that would get rid of the adverts for me, but it wouldn't explain why they now appear for members without adblock. Which is what this is all about.

As far as I'm aware the adverts were always meant to be shown. I mean that's kind of the point of them. It's not like they're a big deal, right?

Also, Maybe AzH is like some animals (snakes for example) that eat once and then don't eat for a few weeks... So he puts the ads on, gets food, eats, takes ads off, ???, repeat.

The revenue that comes in from the ads is negligible anyway. They are off currently as I just put up this new theme but they will probably be coming back. It's a necessary evil.
