He's reffering to Ben Yahtzee's Orange Box review and he's talking about the level puzzles.
For example, waiting for a slow moving elevator to arrive was used in Half-life 2 and all the episodes, also the see-saw puzzle etc. A common complaint for the Half-Life series is that they keep re-using these 'set-pieces' except in different ways.But I do agree with what your saying.



Also what's wrong with the gravity gun? It's t3h 1337! Although i would like to see it being used in other ways other than just grabbing stuff and throwing it.
