How do you feel about the delayed release?

I really think Valve needs to step back and say; 'OK, we aren't issuing any more dates. We're going to go with 'when its done'.

I mean, I love Valve and all but they are absolutely shit at release dates and even estimates... Episodes 6 months apart anyone?

They can't really call HL2 episodic due to the time between releases. Any plans for an EP3?

Yep, its in development but they're being all secret about it... We have, I think, 4 pieces of concept art... And that's it.

I think its because they showed way too much of Ep2 and things were changed after they were made public and they're trying to compensate for it.

My best guess is to expect it in the first half of next year

True - although this is what seems to be occurring with Ep3. We have no idea even when to expect it . . .

if you play hl2 episode 2 in commentary mode, the very first commentary you hear says that it will be concluded in episode 3

The HL2 storyline arc, yes. Not the entire HL storyline though.

well to what im hearing from valve is saying there sure as hell not going to make hl3, becuase the episode series WAS HL3

You mean the episode series was HL3?

Well in any case, Valve cleared up those misconceptions that there will be no HL3, by saying EP3 only concludes the HL2 story arc - and not the overall HL storyline.

that doesnt exactly make sense, if there not going to make hl3, but they end the hl2 story arc, than are they just going to jump to hl4?

Well, they never said they wont make a HL3. They will - you can be sure of that.

Im just pointing out that some people thought the episodes were the end of the HL series altogether.

but they did say that the episode series was hl3, and that they decided to make that instead becuase it took them like 7 years to make hl2 altogethor so they made the episode series so people could play hl3 but still be able to play it alot quicker than making an intire hl game again

They said looking back on it they should have called the Episodes HL3. But they didn't so at the end of the day there will have to be a HL3 - as you said they cant skip HL3, nor can they rename the Episodes now.
