Oh this is utter bullcrap!
I'm sorry but I hear this on so many forums and its just a load of crap. The number of games downloaded with torrents is way exaggerated and PC gaming is still doing fine.
Besides, give it a year or two and there'll be the exact same problem with consoles.

Jesus Christ, piracy is nothing to worry about and doesn't concern you.
So boo-hoo if Metallica can't afford a golden shark tank because a few thousand people thought their music was alright but didn't want to pay for it.
Who cares if Epic Games doesn't sell as many copies of Unreal Tournament 3 then expected even though the game was given average-ish reviews.
Infact, piracy rewards the consumer - YOU!. So what you complaining 'bout boy? Get out there and get the games that fat cat companies expect you to pay $80-100 FOR!(aus)
And companies can always find ways to deter pirates with ways like Steam(even though most of the time it's a bitch) SO DON'T WORRY, most people use the old piracy is makin us broke thing as attention and just trying to make you feel bad. Just like global warming - which seriously you'll be dead/the problem will be fixed before anything serious happens.

No, it hasn't.
It has changed them, sure. But now there is a new kind of "social". Networking sites and online IM's, forums (like this one ), chat rooms and online games now see people interacting with people from a distance. Talking to someone on an IM may be completely different to talking to them face-to-face but it is still "social".
Sure, some people have become more recluse with video games but now these same people who would often have been a recluse anyway can talk to people from the outside world.
You cannot say that video games have destroyed people's social lives.
I'm an avid gamer, I frequent at least five forums a day, two of which I administrate, and yet I still have a healthy social life.

Oh yeah i remember those paper-pen games, really i think people don't want to use their imaginations and instead want their video games to do it for them.
Although IMO i think those MMORPG's do just as good a job but they'll never replace good ol' pen and paper (because it just doesn't give you that warm fuzzy feeling)
About the social thing - yeah i kinda think it's actually done better.
Instead of a group of some college kids hanging out throwing 12 sided dice you now have an entire network of people from all over the world (INCLUDING GIRLS!)
Just look at World of Warcraft - seriously I can't think of a more social online game and while it isn't as personal as being with someone - you can still communicate with them and do quests and shit together at your own leisure.

You can only install it once, unless you uninstall it.

Counter-Strike 1.6 is the first thing that comes to mind.
Also, why are you only including shooters?
