Steam
Because this game is being made by Valve as well as Turtle Rock, will L4D be put for download only on steam, or will it be available off-line for PC Users? Becuase it's not only Valve I'm really hoping it's off-line...my super-gaming PC doesn't exactly have the internet...
But anyways, does it use Steam for the PC?

My guess is that it will be on Steam, being that TRS is now a part of Valve.
Just use a friend internet connection to download it to your Steam account and then set it to Offline mode and play
And; welcome to L4DForums

This may be a really stupid question, but i'm gonna go ahead and ask it anyway.
How can you post on the internet if you don't "exactly have the internet"?
Sure I can think of a few solutions to this question myself, so don't anybody post saying i'm an idiot, but its gonna bug me if i don't know.

I'd imagine that it will also be available to buy 'offline' but firstdibs will be steam users.

But as with all Valve games today, even if you buy retail you have to register it on Steam... So it effectively doesn't make a difference.

Dam it...aw well. I mean, it isn't really that hard to get a 'net connection, now is it? Can't wait for the release of this game. Been looking forward to a lot of other titles, like RE5 and possibly even Starcraft 2, but this one steals the show for me.
Oh, and I'm just using my laptop, which has internet, but is so old that even though it has Windows XP, it runs like W98. I'm glad I can play the original Starcraft on it. So, it doesn't leave many options open for playing this game.
A.) Get a freaking internet connection! (unknown price)
B.) Buy a Xbox 360 or PS3 (I would prefer PS3, btw) ($400-$600)
C.) torture the valve developers and finally convince them to stop using steam...like a freaking psycho (including the cost for the hired guns and torture tools...renting the location...hushing up the press...and doing the actual work...anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000)
I choose C. Which would you choose?

Xbox 360s are cheaper, and they won't be making l4d for ps3. If they are its going to take longer to come out on the ps3.

I'd choose C as well...
So, you're looking for hired guns?
