Delays happen, welcome to to the world of video gaming. It sucks, yes, but it's better than a buggy, unfinished product, right?

I guess, it just annoys me when I expect something at a certain time and then get let down.

Yes, Steam [Glares evilly at Steam icon in system tray.]
'Tis a royal bastard. Sure it has its good points but I still don't like it
Why can't I buy a game and just put in the disc, click install and be playing within minutes instead of waiting a day or two for it to download then having to put up with slow net for the rest of the month 'cause I've gone over my d/l limit. Damn you Steam!!!!
Oh and: Welcome to the forums fingmonk

The benefit of steam is that you may be able to pre-download or pre-install the game pending release. I'm sure they did something like that for HL2, but I could be wrong.

You're wrong.
They first introduced that system for Red Orchestra, a WW2 mod for UT2004.
So ha!

They did that for Portal/Ep2 didn't they? You could pre-d/l it but it couldn't be run until the release date or something?
