Upcoming title Fallout 3 for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 - will be banned in Australia because it depicts the player taking real-world drugs.

No it doesn't, Alan. We actually have an R18+ rating for everything but games, its ridiculous considering the number of gamers in the population.

Like you said there's a lot of music that says stuff that would get a game banned and yet its allowed. Its one of those things that really shits me about the government. Bloody double standards.

So basically a film like "DickCastle 69: Search for Poontang" can be released but a game like Fallout 3 which only makes little reference to real world drugs is banned outright.

I doubt buying it internationally would work seeing as it must be registered via Steam which knows what country you are in and would do whatever it is that it does to stop this sort of thing

WRONG

This game is being made by Bethesda, the same blokes who made Oblivion. Fallout 3 is not being made by Valve and so no registration through Steam is required.
