-Laser sights on all guns
-Change pipebomb to a bow and arrow with bomb tips (so you can shoot them into walls to make zombies run after them)
-Night vision goggles (so you don't have to use a flashlight all the time)

The Infected would still know your there, but for some reason, they would be running around everywhere trying to find you. Even when right infront of you, they wouldnt ht you XD.

But it runs out of batteries...

what about zombie smell. and wouldn't your flashlight and loud ass automatic shotgun blasts give you away?

this is all in theory.

Melee- the butt of the weapon is great. Pistolwhipping is fun! Besides, it is less realistic if you can quickly swap weapons to do a melee attack... :S
Pistol- 8 round .50 calibur revolver (make it have the ability to pierce through all zombies in the trajectory path); Maxsell Jackal (w/ dual wield)
Small Automatic - Nailgun (like from Home Depot... )
Large Automatic - Screw the large Auto... I like the spray can and zippo idea.
Shotgun - Double-barrel over/under .10 gauge
Auto-Shotgun - AA12... slow the reload and/or limit the max ammo to accommodate the wicked rate of fire
Rifle - Winchester... and I still like the hunting rifle.
Explosive - Artillary shells (like the fireworks kind.)
LOLZ - Air-taser and/or juiced up cattle prod

IMO, I think it would be great to see a mod with mostly ready to find and real (easy to come by) weapons, like a few noted above. While most would never be able to stop Tank, they would provide a challenge and an enjoyment closer to the 'reality' of a zombie apocalypse. The concept of mainly melee and smaller guns, shotguns, hunting rifles and even a Mac-10 or 9mm UZI pistol are good. Tweaked the right way, I think it would be pretty enjoyable and engrossing.

i think the best weapons would be u.s bar, m1 garand,50cablier sniperrife,desert eagle,
saw gun(dont know the real name but its something like that),chainsaw,grenade launcher
,scissors(it was a weapon in hl2 it was a mod),there more butt i think this would do good?

i would like to see something from painkiller like the stake gun, or a ninja-star shooter thingy. or like a nailgun from quake 4. or a crossbow. there should also be a mod when there are random things in the game you can pick up, like pens or pencils, or knives or something you can use as a weapon. Oh, wow this just came to my mind HAND GRENADES! I also think there should be some funny skin like a chicken or duck or something that they can wear.

I think for actual new/original weapons, the bug/hair/whatever spray and a lighter is a cool idea (or just a full flame thrower for the more advanced version?) is a really neat idea. Also I would like to see a speargun, but I'm not sure on the mechanics of it. It should probably be two-shots and a fast reload, but one shot should go through multiple walls and infinite (?) zombies.

I think you might want to split this into two separate threads. One for NEW weapons, and one for new skins for the existing weapons. Stuff like a M1 Garand would be redundant with the sniper rifle and an AK-47 would be redundant with the automatic rifle. There are already the core weapons (shotgun, sniper, auto rifle, SMG, pistol, autoshotty). You can slap new skins on them and call them whatever you want, but in terms of what they do, in the end they're all just going to be the same items.

Maybe even a third thread for "joke" weapons like nukes or fully automatic shotguns that hold 50 rounds. The game's current weapons are already pretty balanced. Having more powerful versions of those weapons would just mess with game mechanics if you ask me, which is why it should probably be a separate thread.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure melee weapons would just be a waste. Admittedly it takes like 3-5 punches to kill a zombie, but having something like a lightsaber or whatever would make the game a bit odd. You'd just run forwards at full speed hitting primary over and over and things would just fall over without slowing you down, or else it'd have roughly the same mechanics as punches already have.

Somehow i agree with you, but i think the most best thing on adding new weapons to a game is to play with them. I also dont think it would have been so hard for Valve to do that skin thing to. In some cases like Uzi to p90 i would fully agree with you, because i would liked to have the weapons a bit more realistic in terms of magazin size and stuff.
