L4D system requirements

will the L4D system requirements be the same as to hl2 episode 2 or 1 requirements? if so im fucked

We don't know the requirements yet. They will more likely be known when the game is released.

I guess, the requirements close to Half Life Ep 1 and 2.

The game will be using the latest (improved) version of the source engine. If that means it will require better hardware in your rig, or if it means it will be optimised and requirements will be lower, is still anyone's guess (I note that Crysis Warhead is slated to have lower requirements than the original Crysis). Expect them to be at or near the same as HL2:EP2.

This is my bet. Its on Source so they wont be dramatically different.

Although I do expect the sheer numbers of infected to create a lot more strain on a PC than any part of Ep2 would have...

EP2 had vast "outdoor areas". that were a strain.

When you look at it those are no bigger than any part of Highway 17 or Water Hazard in HL2.

And it would seem that with L4D the maps will be loaded entirely at the start so they would be fairly vast on their own. Seeing as they're being described as "five large maps" within each campaign.

Each section of the map has loading points. I believe after each safehouse you reach.

But the areas between these are going to be a lot larger than any of Valve's previous levels in their SP games (as an interview somewhere, I think it was the GameCyte interview with Erik Johnson).

plus i can barely play hl2 episode 1....
im not even going to try hl2 episode 2...
thats why im worried about requirements....

dude they advertise all this shit about being a great gaming computer and its all bullshit and the warranty is far up, I can't even get a new graphics card becuase its too fucking expensive, I really can't do shit about it
