Lost is incredibly carp IMO. Its the kind of show that should have been one season at the most but now its like four I think.
Anyway, as far as Half-Life games go I didn't like either episode much. Too NPC focussed. If I have to choose I'd say Ep1 because it had a lot less NPC and bottlenecking than Ep2.
