Space Quest creators are making a new game

The Two Guys from Andromeda, creators of the Space Quest adventure game series (from Sierra in the '80s and '90s), have opened up their Kickstarter campaign for their new space adventure game. And they've got some nice voice talent lined up as well, including:

Ellen McLain - GLaDOS from Portal 1 & 2, Overwatch from Half-Life 2, Administrator from Team Fortress 2, Witch from Left for Dead 2 and many more.
John Patrick Lowrie - Sniper from Team Fortress 2, Sword Control from Halo Reach, Citizens from Half-Life 2 and author of Dancing with Eternity.
Gary Owens - Narrator from SQ4 and SQ6, voice of Space Ghost, Laugh-in, and many many others in a long and distinguished career.
Rob Paulsen - Pinky from Pinky and the Brain, Yakko from Animaniacs, Raphael the Ninja Turtle, and multiple characters from Monkey Island among many other characters he has voiced.

I have been playing this game for about 190 hours atm but i have been on a long break. Got tired of never being able to finish a single Vs game with out someone quitting. It happend just now aswell on the Swamp Fever Map.

Just when we exited the crashed airplane and the alarm was sounded two players left :D

Game Freezes after a minute in single-player mode

So when i was playing left 4 dead 2 one day it ran fine :) then it froze :mad: i had to reset my computer because it froze it :mad: any solutions??? :confused:

Never ending crescendos

Just recently I was playing on Dark Carnival 4. We moved to the crescendo area, started it up, and the gate never opened. After waiting a few minutes we realized it wasn't opening so we just moved back and waited until we died off.

I don't think it was intentionally done: one, because the people were playing against weren't very serious about it and I don't think they would have known how to do it if it can be intentionally done.
And two, I noted that I had killed all of them during the time of this happening, which means nobody was sitting aside to do anything.

It just seemed like a fluke thing but I've never seen this one before. I know there is a way to purposely stop the gate on Dark Carnival 2 from opening and I've seen that a few times, but never this.

Has anyone else seen this on Dark Carnival 4 and have you seen it on any other chapters?

when i try to install an add-on map or campaign it says it is not a valid source engine add-on. How can i fix this? Is there any other way to install Left 4 Dead 2 add-on campaigns or maps?

lately I got a bit bored with the games I own, but then a friend and me remembered the great times we had with left 4 dead and the left 4 dead 2 demo (which both worked without any problems on my computer) so we decided to buy left 4 dead 2. We started the game and had a lot of fun with the first chapter, but I noticed the red health packages looked really odd, when we got to the levels after that all the textures bugged and it became a huge mess. as you can see in this screenshot:

I was wondering if anybody recognizes the problem, as I've never had this in any game and/or on any pc. As I said the demo worked fine and that was 1-2 years ago with a different driver for my graphics card. I am using an ATI mobility HD radeon 4500 series, and the driver for that I just updated a few days ago. I am running the game on recommended settings, which are mostly high-very high. I googled a bit and found someone with a similair problem, who was told to use can you run it to check if his pc can run the game and to delete his video.txt file as well as to verify the integrity of his game cache.
I did all of this, my pc can run the game according to 'can you run it,' deleting the file did not work and the latter didn't work either. If anybody is able to help me I'd appreciate it. It isn't such a big problem though as I will buy a new pc in 5-10 weeks.

Just installed Windows 7 from Vista. Re-installed LFD , and all the graphics drivers. Logged in and these are my graphics.

Okay how many of you guys know about the xombie animated web series?

It was created by James Farr almost alone. He started making it back in 2003.

Xombie tells the story of a little girl named Zoe, (heh L4D, anyone?) who washes ashore years after a zombie plague has wiped out most life on Earth and replaced it with bloodthirsty reanimated versions of the planet's previous inhabitants. She is saved from a swarm of zombies by Dirge, a "variant", a zombie who has retained their conscious mind and the ability to think like a human. Dirge takes it upon himself to perform one last good deed before his zombie body withers away and begins a journey to reunite Zoe with the few remaining live humans and save her from a gruesome death at the hands of the undead.

My first contact with xombie was when I stumbled on it at the newgrounds.com (flash movie site) Probably somewhere 2005. I was really impressed by the quality in storytelling, character design and dialogue. Let me tell you at I became a huge fan of Xombie. I live in Finland, but I tracked down ways to get my hands on dvd release of the web series, the illustrated book Xombie: Dead on Arrival and the Xombie: reanimated comics. It cost like hell to get them from US, but it was worth every cent.

Why am I sharing this with you?

The reason is that I have been waiting for something new from this series. The last thing that was ever news about Xombie was that dreamworks were interested making movie out of it back in 2009. But it never happened.

Then suddenly about seven years after when I first time saw Dirge swinging his shovel at zombies. I stumbled on something again.

James Farr is back creating a new web series for it. I was really exited. That little fan boy inside me was screaming with joy. Immediately I started long term negotiations with my girlfriend (we live together) about how much money I can donate to it. Negotiations have been very very slim. Going somewhere from 50 to 100 $

So I wanted help James Farr to bring Dirge back on the web anyway I could. I started thinking places where the best zombie fans could be found. First on my list was of course the L4D fans.

I am not asking you to do anything, but to check it out. The old web series on youtube and the kickstarter page. And if you guys actually like what you see then donate some for it. Even small amounts from thousands of zombie lovers can make this thing happen.

Out-bullshitting other players!

Yknow those moments when in multiplayer, there's some players just abusing the cheapest, most annoying tactics ever? Have you ever out-bullshitted them?

Well, earlier yesterday, I was playing Left 4 Dead on Versus. It was No Mercy 3, near the gas station. We got control of the Tank. The two human players who were alive, instantly went into the alleyway behind the gas station, and were obviously preparing to just blow it up if the Tank comes through. So the current Tank player just gives up and I get control. I see exactly what the survivors are trying to do, so I just lob rock, after rock, after rock to finally force them out of their cheapass area, to which they were lead into an early grave.

And another on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Anyone who's played this game, probably hates the Assault classes ability "Super Soldier". It increases their accuracy, recoil and it makes them completely invulnerable to the next 5 hits. When you take into account that the Assault class already takes 33% less bullet damage ALL the time, if you see an Assault turn on Super Soldier you may as well put your controller down. Except for this one time, where I saw them go Super Soldier, and I turned on my invisibility. I managed to get away, and sneak around them long enough and as soon as their stupid power timed out, I ran up for an instant melee kill. So satisfying!

So come, fellow gamers, tell me your valiant stories of out-bullshitting those cheese-churners!

News: Left 4 Dead 2 Update

Today's update includes fixes that will be coming to the Xbox 360 in a future update.

Dead Center:
The Hotel:
- Made dropping between the top two floors much more difficult.

The Atrium:
-Survivors should no longer be able to jump onto the vending machines near the start of the map, as AI infected could not see or path to this area.
-Blocked Survivors being able to stand on the map placard, as this was a spot where infected could not path to.

Dark Carnival:
The Highway:
-Survivors should no longer be able to jump on top the truck near the ending saferoom, as AI infected are unable to attack survivors there.

The Fairgrounds:
-Survivors can no longer climb on top of an early set of generator lights.
-Made dumpster near the first warehouse session into a static prop to prevent grief blocking map progress.
-The forklift near the entrance to the building leading to the silly slide has been removed.
-Blocked survivors being able to stand on a maintenance structure near the back wall by the carousel, as AI infected were unable to see survivors if they zombie-hopped their way up there.
-Blocked top of the back wall next to above for the same reason.
-Blocked a hop up on a light post base where survivors in VS could glitch their way to 100% map completion.

The Coaster:
-Blocked access to a stuck spot behind some stairs in the swan maintenance room.
-Blocked survivors being able to jump on the shelf next to the stuck spot. Infected were unable to see survivors standing there.
-Blocked being able to climb into the shelved swan in maintenance, as infected could not see survivors that were there. Additionally, it is very difficult to get out of it this swan once you're in.
-Blocked access to the top of the truck just outside of the coaster area for survivors.
-Blocked survivors from jumping on to several electric box props shortly before the coaster event, which could be used as invincible spots.
-Blocked a method of climbing and skipping the roller coaster event start.

The Barns:
-Blocked survivors being able to be knocked into the infected-only trash area next to the covered picnic area near the start. Players knocked over this fence could not make it back.

The Concert:
-Blocked survivor access to the windows above the concert to remove an invincible spot.

SWAMP FEVER:
Plank Country:
-Added a bunch of dock props to break up a pair of invincible spots at the ferry panic event.

The Swamp:
-Skipping the airplane event should now be much more difficult.

HARD RAIN:
The Sugar Mill:
-Blocked a hop-up onto some pipe-work that allowed survivors to skip the conveyor belt section.
-Blocked access to a very tiny ledge opposite the elevator at the holdout event, which was an invinicble spot.

Mill Escape:
-Blocked survivors being able to jump onto the roofs near the start which allowed them to avoid the sugar cane field altogether.

Town Escape:
-Added a props to block access to a table in the restaurant, which was an invincible spot.
-Blocked survivors being able to climb on top of the generator, another invincible spot.
-Removed an invincible spot off the dock.

THE PARISH:
The Waterfront:
-Added a few props for infected to climb out from a garden area behind a wall, which had previously been inescapable.

The Park:
-Blocked survivors from jumping on to the generator and the tops of the metal fences just after the park area, removing an invincible spot.
-Blocked access to an out-of-map exploit area which was reachable by climbing an electrical box prop.

The Cemetery:
-Blocked survivors getting on top of the white trucks near the end of the alarmed car lot, as these were invincible spots.
-Blocked survivors from jumping the fence from the shed into inescapable infected-only territory following the bridge explosion.
-Blocked players following the highway to the end of the map, which led to a spot where players could get under the map.

The Quarter:
-Blocked being able to hop back up a one-way drop following the pool hall.
-Blocked survivor access to the landing exiting the parade float event zone until the event itself has been started.
-Blocked player infected from perching in a high window in the ending safe room, which could prevent a VS round from ending.

THE PASSING:
The Riverbank:
-Block infected ghost players in VS from getting under the map by crossing the bridge at the start.
-Block infected from leaving map bounds by going beyond the first area, and slipping past the water kill brush.
-Block survivors jumping the fence just after the first interior, allowing them to leave the map bounds.
-Block an out-of-map exploit near the wedding party area.
-Block an infected out-of-map exploit near the safe room.

The Port:
-Survivors will no longer be able to stand on the indoor generator and access rooftop areas.

THE SACRIFICE:
The Port:
-Survivors will no longer be able to stand on the indoor generator and access the rooftop areas.

NO MERCY:
The Apartments:
-Adjusted player blocker for the corner drop safe-landing at the start to be slightly larger.

The game works perfectly. But when i updated the game to 2.0.1.3 , it crashes and it says steam is not running. I've also installed the Rev_emu thingy and nothing works. Please help. By the way, i'm new to these things and also sorry for my bad english.
