I'm usually easy to get along with, atleast online. Over the 'Net I'm a funny, likeable person. In RL, I tend to be on the annoying side, Socially awkward, and has anger issues. I guess because online I'm not having to deal with someone face to face. Must have to do with my disorder. I have a form of high-functioning autism called Asperger's which afftects social skills. Once I get to know someone, I'm okay though. I can easily introduce myself online, but in RL, it takes a while. So if you meet me on XBL, and I'm not talking, ask me to. I am quiet until someone talks to me. Just ask me to talk and I will. I'm just shy. I consider myself a decent player. I play because it is enjoyable. I want to meet people who understand that while competitive, L4D is just a game. An awesome game, of course. And to make it worse, it always seems to disconnect when we finally make progress or about to beat the level. Why does it even say "retrying connection to server" when it never will reconnect?

Is it just me having this issue or is everyone on the 360 affected? To find out, I am starting this thread for ya guys on the 360 to post up your disconnected sessions. What were you playing and for how long?

I recently purchased Left 4 Dead 2 for my Desktop. Yay! :rofl:

So I FULLY installed the game, created an account ect. and PLAYED IT FOR 2 DAYS, ONLINE.
Then, we moved... and brought the same computer to it's new home :D

Now our computer is still being set up to internet... so it's disconected for a while :(
Now I WANT to play OFFLINE SINGLE PLAYER, just to further learn the controlls until the Internet comes back online, so I try to run Steam... from there to offline mode, but... it's not connecting to offline mode :(

So how do I play? Please help!

I played so much, that when I slept last night, I dreamt of nothing but Left 4 Dead 2. It was horrible. Don't get me wrong, I love L4d2, but I don't wanna freaking dream about the game.

It's a symptom that tells me I need to play less, or other games in between.

I had a horrible night. I don't know if I slept at all, or if I was just thinking all night. Either way, I could not get it out of my head.

I think that's why I didn't play today. Also factoring in homework and the achievement crap on WaW.

But damn, I love sleeping, and dreaming. Just not about games that I played at least 20 hours of in one weekend.

So I saw the trailer basically and thought it was pretty sick.

I could've swore I saw a little car you can control and acts like a bomb or something.
I saw some other stuff, I can't remember. But surely, it must be better than MW2, at least WaW for sure.

However, I read somewhere that you needed to have a subscription to Black Ops or the company, whatever, or else the map pack will be 20 dollars each.

In the long run, it would probably be better to buy the map packs than be subscribed. At least for me, because I don't play MW2 every single damn day like some of my friends do.

So what have you guys heard?

I'd honestly thought it'd be bullshit because of the graphics, only because nowadays every game is trying to be as realistic as possible.

But I had a coupon for renting a game, and I said "What the hey, I'll give it a shot before I talk shit about it" because it's not fair, and bias to do that when you haven't given it a shot, right? Right.

So I rented it, and started playing. It was pretty good so far.
I like the weapons, the leveling, the shields, the different names for enemies.

I thought it was a combination of MW2 and GTA, because of the RPG and first person shooter, which I loved.

Anyway, I borrowed the download package from my friend, with the Zombie Island and Moxxi's tournaments.

So far I have 60 of 70 achievements.

I don't want to buy the other DLC, the Armory, because I don't own Borderlands. I borrowed it from my friend after I returned the game, so I could get all 60 achievements.

The tournaments, though I gotta admit, is fucking ridiculous and takes forever to beat. But I managed to do it. The first time was joining a game on round 18, whoopeedoo. The second time was joining a game on round 8.
The last time, sigh, I did the whole thing myself.

My friend gave me a modded shield, so I can't die.
A stranger gave me a modded shotgun, one hit-ko pretty much.

I only used them for the tournaments. 5 rounds is okay, probably stretching it out a bit. 20 rounds, no one should have to do that.

I want to get all 70, but you know my problem.

Anyway, how many other people here have it?
What did you think of it?

Deaths: You go down WAY to fast. ONE shot kills me. I understand they wanted to make the multiplayer version more real but it is to difficult for me to concentrate.

Punkbuster: A shitty time-wasting anti-cheat on the PC that freezes the game to much and kicks you from the server you're on if the initialization fails. I also used pbsvc which tells you if the services on punkbuster are working correctly but it doesn't tell you any solutions. Is this an error?

has left the game/Server disconnected: On the PC, every single time I try to play nice multiplayer game, the game freezes for no reason and kicks me out of the server and some notice shows up saying "has left the game" or "Server disconnected" even though Punkbuster is updated.

No XP points for winning a match: I notice that I don't recieve any XP points when my team win a match. Why?

It is so fucking horrible. I've had the game for a long time now, and I still haven't beaten the campaign mode, unlike Cod4 and MW2, which I've beaten.
I just tried to play it, and I died a million times. I really can't stand playing it.
I did manage to get 2 achievements though, which were kind of fun.
The Professional, which is kill some people without reloading, and Rough Economy, which is kill 3 guys with 1 bullet.

I only played to try and get the death cards for the achievement, and in order to do that, I have to play the story mode. But it's so bad. I wish someone could play it for me and just do it.

Now, for me, I always want to be the one to get everything on my account, but as for WaW, is another story. I do not want to touch it again, let alone play it.

But I want to get the achievements, because 23/66 is horrible.

Blah.

Multiplayer was fun, till I played MW2 and basically tossed it aside for MW2.

Who else agrees with me? Or disagree?

I can't see myself playing story mode anytime soon, but if you do see me playing the story mode, just know that I am 10000% bored with absolutely no plans.

Darkness began to lift and return to the heavens whilst the light began to envelope the city of Greenacre Island, the small and scarcely inhabited area which was once a flourishing and booming place to live and enjoy life within. However, things had changed since these times.
Around 2 years ago, the government were celebrating their momentous victory against the battle of HIV and Aids, as a serum had been produced to take over a 6 week period that would help back up the immune system, thus inevitably curing the deadly disease. It was amazing as to how many people came around to admitting they had the once life-threatening disease, it was something that is unfathomable to people half a decade ago, when the press used to hide a lot of Aids stories, for the fear of bad publicity - but now, everyone was confident they were going to be cured and life could resume as normal... if only.

"Sam, hurry up it's getting dark outside, we've gotta bounce!", he said whilst pulling on his rucksake which contained various items, ranging from bandages and painkillers, to tinned and dried food - as well as a bottle of water. "Let's go!" He shouted this time; Sam lay in slumber, half-awake and just for a moment, forgot about the horrors which awaited him. He slowly got up, he didn't need to change; because rarely came the opportunity to stay in one place for more than about 6 hours. The pair finally got their kit togther and starting to make their way down the stairs of the apartment building, which had been barricaded to stop the infected monsters breaching their hiding place.

"Let's move, best time right now - if we walk all day today, we may just reach the Control Point." Dean turned to Sam, whilst also taking his Pistol out the holster which was attached to his jeans. "Yeah, then maybe we can see some other people that aren't bleeding from every orifice and wanting to kill me for no reason other than pure bloodshed." Sam, was ever in an optimistic mood, Dean sighed, he knew that given the circumstances there was an excuse for it.

They both peered through the front door, they knew that even though there is sunlight, it doesn't guarantee the complete safety of walking through the cold, unyielding and bloodthirsty streets which used to contain just frivolty, but now, such a time cannot be forseen again.

They moved swiftly but with great caution, it was always considered a good idea to take the main streets, because you never knew what was lurking in the side streets. It seemed that there was a single infected male, that was lonely wandering the avenues, unaware of the sunlight, which posed a threat, if the infected became too used to the sunlight, then there would be even more danger on the streets, rather than mainly at night. I've only got Left 4 Dead 2, and have only really owned that for about a month or two, so I guess I'm kind of a newb. I'm not exactly a great player but I could be worse.

I've rarely had an opportunity to play modes like campaign, versus, survival, realism and mutation so I'm happy to play along with anyone on that. Especially versus, to be honest I need to improve my skills there but it's night impossible with no human teammates and an opposing team of three auto aiming bots. In other words, if you want to add me for some reason, I won't reject... without a good reason anyway. Just let me know who you are on this forum.:) Keep in mind that winning isn't really a concern of mine most of the time.

Sometimes causing me to rage quit :

1. Stealing first aid kits. You know? You are bustin your butt trying to help everyone get to the safe room alive. You're taking damage while you are protecting them and helping them back to their feet. You end up limping into the safe-room LAST because nobody is watching YOUR back. The next level loads up and ALL med packs are gone and the other three players are already out the door. Man, that's the worst. Often, if I haven't invested too much time in that particular campaign, I'll say (as calmly as possible), "don't..... steal.... med-packs...." Then I'll quit.

2. Closing a door in someone's face. Sure, once or twice might be an accident. The guy might even be trying to open the door for you, but the lag is causing the reverse to happen. I can laugh that off. It's the people who think it's funny to constantly do that to a person over and over that really get to me. I just don't see the humor in it, unless the humor is in aggravating me. The only saving grace is that it's usually the safe room door that the griefer is slamming in my face, so the other players are also witnessing it. If that's the case, then initiating a vote to kick that player is usually about 75% successful. The other 25% of the time when the vote fails, I just end up quitting myself. Let THEM play with the griefer then.

3. When a new level opens up and a player is standing right in front of the door with a sniper rifle and he's taking zombie heads. Please, don't do this for more than about 15 seconds. It's really aggravating for the other players who want to open the door and begin the map. If you feel that you simply MUST do this, then try doing it without standing in front of everyone else. Strafe to the side a bit or stand on top of a table near the door. Take heads without getting in the way of other players, please.

4. If I'm playing with one other human and two bots and the other human saves and incapped BOT before he saves an incapped ME. Man, that's a huge insult and usually results in me stating, "fine, play with bots then." Then I quit. Sometimes, during a hectic fire-fight, I'm sure it's hard to tell who's a bot and who's not. Those instances are fine to save whoever is closest. I'm talking about when things are calm and quiet. If all things are equal, just come get me first, please? I'm a freakin human!

5. You walk into a room and see a first aid kit. You are down to 25% health and everyone else is just fine. You start to heal yourself with your current med-pack, and right before it finishes, someone else grabs the kit that you were going to pick up and then walks away. Completely and utterly annoying. Similar aggravation when dealing with pills or adrenaline. If you see someone standing in front of a med-pack and he's healing himself, just let him take the new med-pack, for Pete's sake.

6. You're camping in the upper corner of the finale for Carnival (the concert map). You've stockpiled a few gas cans and fireworks to save for the tanks and difficult rushes. You are down to your last can and you are standing on top of it, claiming it for your own so you can use it on the last tank. I HATE when some noob runs over and grabs it so he can use it on common infected. I try to be polite at first when I say, "Hold on, I'm saving that for the tank". Usually that works, but sometimes not. Sometimes I have to resort to speaking to a noob like he's a bad dog. "Leave it..... LEAVE IT!.... Don't touch it...." But when they ignore all warnings, steal it, and use it on common infected, I either quit, or finish the level in hopes that they get pounced and I have an opportunity to leave them there to die.

7. People who are hosting the game locally and end up quitting (for whatever reason). Really, that's downright rude for the other players who are having fun since it boots all of us out of the game. I wish Steam didn't even have that option for a player to host locally, or better yet, an option for ME to filter out any games being hosted locally.

8. People who scream into the mic, "HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME!!!" Really, just stop it. Simply state, "I'm smoked. Right behind you." Something like that. When you say it calmly, it makes me WANT to help you. When you scream at the top of your lungs, it makes me want to let you die.

9. People who INSIST on glitching in a campaign even in normal difficulty. Like the guys who ALWAYS jump on top of the plane in Swamp Fever in order to avoid that panic event. "Yes, yes... you are VERY cool for being able to jump up there. Congrats. Now can we just fight the freakin zombies now?" I can understand glitching during survival maps in order to get gold, or maybe even when campaigning on Expert difficulty, but please not on normal difficulty. C'mon!

10. People who intentionally start car alarms before everyone is in the safe room or other safe area. No Mercy maps 1 and 2 have car alarms at the end of the maps that griefers can't seem to resist setting off. Man, that's cause for being kicked if you ask me. But the reason I never initiate a vote to kick in those situations is because occasionally even I slip up and accidentally start a car alarm in those same spots if I get too lazy with my shotgun. But I ALWAYS instantly apologize to the team when I do that. "UGH! MY BAD! Sorry guys." That's always enough to prevent any hard feelings.

But every time my team is going to win, the other team leaves and it closes down. I have played thousands of versus mode, and I've only got 3 wins in the past two weeks. I just played a game, and the team left.

I don't even like versus mode, but I don't mind playing it. If someone invites me, I'll play, unless I'm trying to do something.

But it's ridiculous. I must've played at least 200 games this weekend and I can't even get a damn team to stay and play and finish through the end.

So much time wasted. I hate public games. They're never reliable or good.

So if anyone wants to help me get 2 more wins, maybe even some achievements I don't have (Which can be found in the Versus Mode subforum) I would appreciate it greatly. I just want to get it over with.

Maybe two players could go on the other team to ensure they won't be vote-kicked, and just fuck around and stuff. I just want to be done with it.

I'm really tired of leavers. I usually finish the game, but if the team is doing so damn bad, so bad that I can't even comment on, I'm gonna leave.

Maps (and Descriptions):

'Director' is a big office in a skyscraper (You can fall out windows and die). There is one Room where the Door is labeled 'Director'. When you enter it the only thing in the room is a corpse (Representing The AI Director) lying next to a knocked over chair (If you go into the room as Zoey she says, "Oh No! The Zombies Killed God!") and a desk where there are buttons labeled that spawn infected and chose where they are spawned.

'Plantation House' is the Deathmatch Equalivialent to The Final Stage in Swamp Fever.

'Elevator Shaft' is a never ending elevator shaft. Fire is Rising Below you and you have to out run it.

'Ravenhom' is the Deathmatch Equalivialent to Ravenholm in Half-Life 2.

'gm_construct' is a port of Contruct form Garry's Mod, to Left 4 Deathmatch.

Play it on the hardest difficulty, and you have a cat and mouse fight that can last 45 minutes. It takes patience, timing, and knowing. You have to have good ears and eyes to pinpoint The End. I don't mind it but on Expert, its cheap. He might as well just pounce you if a single slash does that much damage. Once you melee, they should be stunned completely, no BS slash. I cannot tell you enough how many times my teammates are dead and I survive long enough for them to respawn, then seeing a Hunter, meleeing the said Hunter, and the bastard incaps me thanks to his slash.

Ninja Tanks. Is the AI Director really so ruthless that he sometimes doesn't give warning of a Tank? Or is it just me who has this problem? Often times I walk by a door or passage and there's a Tank standing right there silently yelling at himself. I have often see them cheaply placed in saferooms and you open the door and BAM, you dead, bro. I remember playing Hard 8 yesterday and all the specials spawned in the saferoom. Its BS that WE can't spawn in a saferoom in Versus yet they can.
